I have often struggled with the idea of returning to my hometown. I love it dearly, but I am no longer the person I was when I lived there. I go back and forth regularly, but I can't help but worry that if I returned, we would no longer mesh because one of us has changed so drastically. I stay away in hopes that my absence will preserve the feeling I have when I think of home--which is both heartbreaking and comforting.
I've spoken at the Mbird NYC conference before: it's wonderful. The food, the people, the venue. I think I'm not going this year b/c flying, b/c baby, but you totally should.

This is so well said!! I have so much nostalgia in my heart for Orlando but it’s so hard to be nostalgic when I live here 😂
“where Mickey Mouse and humidity run the show.” I LOVE YOUR WRITING. What a beautiful piece.
